EP.16 - Of Preservation and Trust

This week we unpack the rich descriptions of blessing and how God preserves us in him. Do we trust in him to preserve us in all things? Some things? Too often our trust stops where we try to mentally limit his preservation in our lives.
David shows us that God's faithfulness is not contingent on our amount of trust.

EP.15 – Challenge of Character

David calls out a challenge to the follower of God with a list of those things that define said follower. Paul will draw on these traits later on in the Bible and give us a similar list.
Who are those that will abide with God and dwell with him? Those that are defined by his character that comes through in their character.

EP.14 - The Fool and His Folly

David is pretty hard on the fool in Psalm 14. As we explore the Psalm, we'll see that his is justified in his indictment. 
The glory of the gospel is that there is even hope for the fool.

EP.13 - Down but not Forgotten

Psalm 13 brought a time of life back to Tom's memory that he shares with us in great detail. In the trials of our lives, when God is building us as Christians, it is easy to think that we've been forgotten. 
We need to realize not only has he not forgotten us, he is forging us into who he wants us to be.

EP.12 - Destined for Preservation

Despite all the wickedness we see in the world, God has destined us for preservation. All too infrequently do we ask for the help we need from our God, or all too late in the problem.
Why do we wait? Why do we struggle through relying on our own strength?

EP.11 - The Best Defense is a Good Offense

In this episode we walk through Psalm 11, where David says he is taking it to the streets. He will not flee, and neither should we. He's going on the offensive because he knows God's got this and every trial, every trouble.
He put his trust in God, and we can too.

EP.10 - Desperately Wicked

Psalm 10 tells a story of condemnation for the wicked. David's accusations are scathing and righteous, and as we look at them, we see how applicable they are to our society today. Indeed the hearts of men are desperately wicked.

EP.9 - Determining Righteousness

This week's episode puts us smack dab in the middle of David's struggle with troubles. He prayerfully and rejoicingly points out that he is thankful that the Lord determines and judges the righteousness of all man, and that only his righteousness will pass the scrutiny.
