EP.66 - Urgent Plea, Glorious Praise

In Psalm 70, the episode explores the tension between our natural impatience and God's perfect timing, a theme that resonates deeply with many of us.
David’s urgent plea for God to "make haste" in delivering him is highlighted as a reflection of our own desperation during trials. David also emphasizes the importance of trusting in God's timing, even when it feels delayed.
The call for God to be magnified amidst his distress serves as a reminder to find joy in God’s salvation, regardless of our circumstances. He is always worthy of our praise.

EP.65 - Deep Waters and Deliverance

In Psalm 69, David’s cries for deliverance echo the deep anguish of a soul overwhelmed by enemies and suffering. This episode delves into the raw emotions David expresses as he seeks God's intervention amidst betrayal, slander, and relentless adversity.
David’s plea for salvation becomes a powerful reminder of God’s unwavering presence in our darkest hours. As we walk through this Psalm, we’ll see how David’s faith anchors him, even when surrounded by despair.
Ultimately, Psalm 69 teaches us to trust in God’s timing and deliverance, no matter the depth of our struggles.

EP.64 - Bless God for who He is

In Psalm 68, the Psalmist proclaims God’s power and majesty, urging Him to rise against His enemies and uplift the righteous.
The imagery of smoke and melting wax emphasizes the transient nature of the wicked before God’s might. We as believers are called to rejoice, recognizing the ultimate victory achieved through Christ’s resurrection.
This psalm serves as a reminder of God’s eternal reign and his enduring character, encouraging deeper worship and a life of praise in response to His grace and mercy.

EP.63 - His Blessing for His Glory

In Psalm 67 we see why God blesses us and why we should want to be blessed by him. It may not be why you think.
Do we have a good grasp on God's glory? Could any of us answer that to the affirmative? If we did would we be telling the truth?
As Christians it should be one of our goals to better understand how to give God glory and why. We may understand he is worthy of it, but can we understand just a little bit more about his glory through this Psalm?  

EP.62 - Come and See

In Psalm 66 we are going to WORSHIP!! This is turning into a theme and is indicative of why the Psalms were such great worship songs for the Israelites. 
In this Psalm, the psalmist calls on all people to worship God, speaks of his glory, his beauty, his power and then he provides us with the proper response to our God.
The message of the Psalm boils down to multiple calls to Come and See. This was also the phrase on the lips of the apostles who brought people to meet Christ. It should be the phrase on our lips as well. It should be the praise on our lips. Come and see what God has done, for us, come and see what he has done for all creation, come and see his rich blessings, his love, his sacrifice, his salvation. Come and see what God has done.

EP.61 - Get stuck in a rut

In Psalm 65, David shows us the manifold specific blessings of God to the believer, and God's general blessings on all creatures and people. 
It's easy to take the general blessings of God for granted. It is just as easy to take his specific blessings for the believer for granted. But he has lavished us with rich kindness we could never deserve. Not just as believers, but he has given each and every person on this planet, breath and life. It's easy to get stuck in a rut that blinds us to his rich blessings. 
What if we got stuck in a different rut? A rut of praising him for each and every thing and person in our lives. What if we lived our life in that rut? Maybe we just need to get stuck in a new rut!

EP.60 - Considering the Wicked

In Psalm 64, David describes to us the wicked and God's handling of them. This week, I'd like for us to consider how God will eventually handle them vs how he would prefer to handle them. 
As Christians it may seem easy to ask for and pray for God's judgment, yet we forget what judgment would have meant of run without the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. 
Maybe we need to re-evaluate how we approach praying about the wicked, and David ends with a great example of what it could be like to do so.

EP.59 - Satisfied with Praise

In Psalm 63, David gives us quite the pattern for praise. He is in a situation where once again it would be easy to ask God why, instead he thanks God for being exactly what he needs when he needs it.
Do we thirst after God? Praise Him, he can quench it!
Are we hungry for God? Praise Him, he can satisfy!
What is our praise life like? Do we praise him and thank him for all he is and all he does, or are we calling out for help? Do we praise him with our lips and our actions? Let's look at how we can please God by praising Him.
